Bond Commission: $6.2 Million for 111 Units, 330 Jobs


The state Bond Commission approved housing appropriations Friday that will create jobs and new affordable units in Somers and Wilton.

The Somers Housing Authority will receive $3 million in loan funds for 60 new affordable elderly units; their construction is estimated to create or retain 171 construction-related jobs.

In Wilton, a subsidiary of Mutual Housing Associates of Southwest Connecticut will receive a $3.2 million loan to create 51 low- and moderate-income units of rental housing for the elderly. The project is expected to create or retain approximately 159 construction-related jobs.
