A new report by The Warren Group shows that Connecticut single-family home sales have reached the highest level since 2007.
The report finds that single-family home sales increased by 2.7% in December, to 2,656 from 2,587 in December 2015. Year-to-date, single-family home sales were up 8.7% to 32,235, compared to the December 2015 year-to-date figure of 29,644. The median sales price rose to $240,000, up 2.1% from the same time last year, at $235,000. Year-to-date median sales prices also experienced a slight bump increasing less than 1% to $246,000 in December 2015, to $247,000 in December 2016.
Condominium sales saw a spike from December 2015, increasing 15.7% from 619 condos sold up to 716. Year-to-date, condominium sales were up by 5.3%, to 8,267 sales, compared to 7,853 the same time last year. The median sales price for condos also received a sizeable bump from $146,500 in December 2015, to $166,500 in December 2016, representing a 13.6% increase. The year-to-date numbers for condominium sales prices represent a slight decrease, to $162,450 from $163,000, or less than 1%.
