DOH Announces NOFA for Just In Time Initiative

Department of Housing (DOH)

The Department of Housing (DOH) has announced a Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) for "Just In Time projects" for developers of market-rate residential or mixed-use rental projects who are interested in including in their projects units at an affordable level.

Before applying, the projects should be through the discretionary approval process. DOH has made $5 million available for this program and the submission deadline, which starts Oct. 15, is rolling.

Eligible entities include, according to the state release: “a non-profit entity, a municipality, a housing authority, any partnership, limited partnership, limited liability company, joint venture, sole proprietorship, trust or association having as one of its purposes the construction, financing, acquisition, rehabilitation or operation of affordable housing.”

The purpose of this NOFA is to increase the state’s stock of affordable housing, a goal shared by Partnership for Strong Communities. Interested parties can find applications here.
