Governor Announces over $2M for Historic Brownfield Sites

On January 23, 2015 Governor Malloy announced a $2.2 million investment to eight municipalities to support the redevelopment of historically significant brownfield sites. The funding will come from the Department of Economic and Community Development (DECD) and will serve to address areas that have been underused or abandoned for decades.

  • Bridgeport -$300,000 for the former Remington Arms Factory on Barnum Avenue

    Enfield -$200,000 for the historic Strand Theater in Thompsonville

  • Haddam - $300,000 for the historic Haddam Jail on Route 154

  • New Haven - $300,000 for the former Bigelow Boiler factory on River Street

  • Norwich - $300,000 for the Uncas Leap Heritage Area

  • Putnam -$300,000 for the Belding Mill on Providence Street

  • Thompson - $218,000for the River Mill on Riverside Drive

  • Vernon - $300,000 for Daniel’s Mill, a component of the overall Amerbelle complex
