Homelessness Advocacy Days a Success

Earlier this month, statewide advocates, people who have experienced homelessness, and representatives from agencies assisting people in crisis convened at the Legislative Office Building and met with over two dozen legislators to express support for Governor Malloy’s proposed housing initiatives.

The meetings were spread out over two days so each of the state’s communities could have one-on-one time with their elected representatives and senators to discuss issues related to housing and homelessness. These meetings provided opportunities for those combating homelessness on the front lines to advocate for resources needed to prevent and end homelessness in Connecticut.

While each community had its own story to share, most if not all requested legislators to support the Opening Doors – CT legislative agenda, found here.
