CT Receives HUD Funds for Housing Counseling

U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD)

On April 14, 2015, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded $152,633 to the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority and Community Renewal Team, Inc. to be used to counsel homeowners, potential homeowners, and renters with their housing needs. In total, HUD is allocating $36 million in funding to a mix of local, state and national organizations that provide housing counseling services. 

HUD also announced it is establishing the Housing Counseling Federal Advisory Committee (HCFAC), which will provide HUD’s Office of Housing Counseling with information needed to assist housing consumers find and maintain their homes.
