Homelessness and Housing Advocacy Days

YOU are the experts.
The Connecticut Coalition to End Homelessness and Partnership for Strong Communities are holding legislative Advocacy Days for eight regions from across the state. This is your chance as service providers and advocates to inform Connecticut’s lawmakers.

The sessions will be:

  • Greater New Haven
  • Fairfield County
  • Greater Hartford
  • Middlesex County
  • New London County
  • Windham County
  • Bristol, Southington, Plainville, New Britain, Berlin
  • Waterbury and Litchfield County

The Homelessness and Housing Advocacy Days will take place on March 5th and March 6th at Legislative Office Building (300 Capitol Avenue, Hungerford St, Hartford, CT). Over the next week, we will be scheduling a one hour time-slot in a reserved room at the Capitol with the legislators from your region to discuss our work to prevent and end homelessness across the state and the Opening Doors-CT Legislative Agenda.

We know that it is a challenge for many providers to get to Hartford to advocate – and we want to help create the structured opportunity that will allow you to get the most impact for your investment of time.

CCEH and the Partnership for Strong Communities will support your efforts by coordinating the Homelessness and Housing Advocacy Days, tailoring regional factsheets and data, and providing the following tools:

  • An advocacy webinar planned for the last week of February designed to orient attendees with our 2014 Opening-Doors CT Legislative Recommendations and the logistics of our 2014 Homelessness and Housing Advocacy Days
  • Opening-Doors CT Legislative Recommendations
  • Key messages, supporting documents, and facts to help share your story
  • A PowerPoint Template to be used during Homelessness and Housing Advocacy Days
  • Regional Legislative Fact Sheets
  • A template invitation for Legislators
