In Memoriam: Robert Hohler 1932-2011, Executive Director of the Melville Charitable Trust

Bob HohlerSupportive Housing has lost its champion. Bob Hohler, Executive Director of the Melville Charitable Trust, passed away suddenly last Thursday, June 2 while hiking with his family in England.

Over the last two decades, Bob worked tirelessly to establish and build the philanthropic energy to end homelessness, not only through his role at the Melville Charitable Trust, but additionally as a founder of Funders Together to End Homelessness and as Chair of the Board of The Partnership for Strong Communities. His other contributions include providing the vision behind the effort to revitalize Billings Forge in the Frog Hollow neighborhood of Hartford and the creation of the Reaching Home Campaign to End Homelessness in Connecticut.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and everyone else touched by Bob's energy and enthusiasm. He will be sorely missed as we continue our work to end homelessness in Connecticut and across the country. We push forward, inspired by his lifelong commitment to a just and fair society.
