New Campaign Focuses on Creating Housing Mobility

CT Fair Housing Center

In conjunction with the release of the “Moving Forward” guide created to assist individuals in the Greater Hartford area in finding a home suitable for their needs, the CT Fair Housing Center kicked off a six-month campaign in July focused on enhancing mobility. Low-income residents have many obstacles and a fear of housing discrimination, which exacerbates a lack of housing mobility in the Greater Hartford area. Where a person lives often determines their access to opportunities for career advancement, education, transportation, and a variety of other issues that can affect their quality of life.

As part of the campaign, the CT Fair Housing Center will offer free classes on how to find housing. Class participants will learn how to utilize the “Moving Forward” guide as well as additional resources to become knowledgeable on fair housing laws, aiding them in the search for adequate housing.
