New Report on Youth Summit Released

On November 18, 2016, the New England Federal Regional Interagency Council on Homelessness, in collaboration with Melville Charitable Trust and Liberty Mutual Foundation, hosted New England’s first regional summit on youth homelessness. The summit convened key stakeholders that are working to prevent and end youth homelessness in the region.

On February 17, 2017, the Council shared the summary report from the event, which includes highlights from speakers, an overview of the workshop sessions, and follow-up items on developing a Coordinated Community Response to youth homelessness.

The report highlights Alicia Woodsby’s presentation on the Partnership for Strong Communities’ role in addressing youth homelessness as the backbone of the Reaching Home Campaign. It also featured Artemis Fontaine, a Youth Action Hub researcher, who discussed her experience with homelessness and the Youth Action Hub’s work in assisting in Connecticut’s effort in understanding the needs of youth and young adults that are experiencing homelessness and the resources they need.
