OPM Extends Deadline for HOMEConnecticut Grant Applications

The Office of Policy and Management has extended the deadline to April 1 for applications to OPM for HOMEConnecticut pre-development grants of $20,000 to $50,000. The grants can be used for everything from legal and engineering services to appraisals and planning activities, potentially including community engagement, in the identification and creation of Incentive Housing Zones. For information about applying, you can contact David Fink, policy director at the Partnership for Strong Communities (860.244.0066 and 860.202.7418 or david@pschousing.org) or consult the OPM website or call Dimple Desai at OPM, 860.418.6412.

Municipalities applying will need resolutions in support of the application from both the town’s zoning board and the town council or board of selectmen. Municipalities considering creation of mixed-income housing in Incentive Housing Zones may want to review the mixed-income profiles on the PSC website and PSC’s new community engagement video which explains how five different Connecticut municipalities proactively engaged their residents in planning, designing and zoning areas for residential and commercial development.
