Please Join Us As We Celebrate the Reaching Home Campaign

Since the launch of Opening Doors Connecticut in January 2012, the Reaching Home Campaign has grown and evolved to encompass several new systems, partners, target populations, and interventions. We have seen tremendous growth in the scope of our efforts.

Advocates, nonprofit leaders, front line workers, government partners, policymakers, and broader community stakeholders are embracing a new and multi-faceted approach to ending homelessness.

Our efforts aim to level the playing field and create a foundation of opportunity for disadvantaged individuals and families in our state with the core belief that everyone should have equal access to quality housing, education, health and behavioral health care, food and economic security, and safe and healthy environments.

We are in a period of dynamic partnerships, innovative approaches, and system-wide reforms that are paving the path to success – a path only possible through the contributions of individuals who graciously and selflessly dedicate their lives to ending this crisis. The level of humanity, persistence, and resiliency required by those who are out there working on the front lines everyday to support the most vulnerable people and confronting the most complex social problems are unseen by most, but inextricably tied to any and all progress we make as an advocacy initiative. We celebrate them most as we reflect on our work this past year.

Please join us in this celebration on June 12th starting at 5p.m. at Crowne Plaza Hotel in Cromwell as we mark a year filled with creative collaborations, and advancements that spanned unaccompanied and runaway youth, health care and hospitals, state financed housing development, the crisis response system, employment and workforce development, veterans, and our successful legislative advocacy efforts. We salute our long-time partners and allies, and recognize the many new faces representing a diverse array of sectors and systems who understand the deep cross-policy connections and are joining the campaign to prevent and ending homelessness in Connecticut.
