Realtors Report Sales Decline in July

Comparing July of 2015 with 2016, Connecticut Realtors’ data shows that home sales decreased by almost 10% from 3,933 to 3,611, while condominium and townhomes sales decreased by almost 20% from 974 to 798. The percent decrease in home sales is steeper than the region as a whole, which only experienced a 5.7% decrease.

The median sales prices for single family homes also decreased. It took a 2.9% dip from about $272,000 to $265,000. This was the first instance of a price decline in the past twelve months. Conversely, condominium and townhomes prices actually increased 1.8% from $164,500 to $167,500.
