Requests for Support to Save HOME Program

Home Coalition

President Obama recently released his fiscal year 2017 budget, which allocates $950 million in funding for the HOME Investment Partnerships Program. This is the same level of funding as FY16. In the next couple of months, Congress will start drafting its proposed budget. The HOME Coalition has released a Sign-On Letter (hyperlink) asking for support from organizations, government officials, and advocates in helping to increase the HOME program funding up to $1.2 billion for FY17.

In the last 20 years, the HOME program has created affordable housing units and provided rental assistance to the most vulnerable population. In Connecticut, the HOME Program has helped to create and preserve approximately 9,985 affordable units, provided 803-rental assistance to families in need, supported over 16,000 in jobs, and generated nearly $1.09 billion in state revenue.
