State Bond Commission Approves $537M for Funding

 

The State Bond Commission met and approved all 36 items on the agenda for a total of $537 million. In addition to the numerous transportation and infrastructure projects that were approved, the commission also approved a few housing and transit-oriented development projects. They are as follows:

  • $2 million to the CT Children’s Medical Center to finance the Lead Abatement for Medical Primary Prevention Program. The program covers 15 communities.
  • $500,000 to the City of New Britain for downtown redevelopment planning that will include mixed use and transit-oriented development.
  • $2.5 million to the Department of Transportation to support transit-oriented development projects statewide.
  • $5 million to the Office of Policy and Management to its Local Capital Improvement Fund to provide reimbursements to municipalities with approved projects.
