Trulia Finds Falling Home Prices (and Rents) in CT

A new report from Trulia found that for-sale prices decreased in 70 of the 100 largest U.S. metro areas between September 2015 and 2016. Hartfordhad the 9th highest change in the share of for-sale listings with a price reduction (1.61%). Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk, CT was 13th on the list (1.25%), while New Haven-Milford, CT was 21st (1.07%).

Rental price decreases, identified in 80 of the 100 largest U.S. metro areas, were comparatively less pronounced in Connecticut.. New Haven-Milford, CT ranked 35th in the proportion of rental listings with a price reduction (1.43%). Bridgeport-Stamford-Norwalk, CT was 37th on the list (1.29%), while Harford, CT was 56th (0.65%).

The report suggested that these trends could be a consequence of landlords and sellers listing their properties too high in 2015.
