USICH Publishes Strategies to End Chronic Homelessness

United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH)

The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness has published ten strategies communities can use in their effort to end chronic homelessness. A list of resources and tools are highlighted under each strategy.

Some of the strategies include:

  • Getting state and local leaders to publicly commit to and coordinate efforts on ending chronic homelessness
  • Identifying and being accountable to all individuals experiencing chronic homelessness
  • Implementing a housing-first system orientation and response
  • Prioritizing supportive housing resources for individuals experiencing chronic homelessness
  • Engaging and supporting public housing agencies and multifamily affordable housing operators
