USICH Releases Tool to Estimate Community PSH Needs

United States Interagency Council on Homelessness

The United States Interagency Council on Homelessness (USICH) has released a tool to help communities assess their supportive housing. In order to meet the national 2017 goal of ending chronic homelessness, the number of supportive housing units must provide for those experiencing chronic homelessness and those at risk.

The Supportive Housing Opportunities Planner (SHOP) tool will assist communities in choosing strategies to meet the need for supportive housing, from improved targeting to the creation of new units. When users input prioritization and unit creation targets, SHOP supplies the number of people affected and the impact on the 2017 goal. USICH is planning a webinar to offer support and answer questions.
