Efficient Policy in an Era of Scarcity

With limited public resources, each dollar needs to stretch farther than ever before, requiring smart solutions and coordinated policies that solve several problems at once.

Housing is the foundation of opportunity. An affordable, safe, secure home is vital to the success of a household, a family, a child, at school, at work and at play.

Housing is also the hub of public policy. The right home in the right place at the right price can help solve homelessness, healthcare, education, transportation, energy, environmental quality, economic development, aging, child welfare, corrections, mental health and many other key policy areas.

The key is to coordinate that policy. For the last four years, the Partnership for Strong Communities has advanced the discussion of creative, focused solutions through its housing forum series.

Coming in 2012, with the ideas and support of many partners, the Partnership will coordinate six new forums throughout the Winter and Spring:
