Earlier this week, the House and Senate passed the biennial budget (HB 7424). This budget proposes $43 billion in spending over the biennium, closes the projected $3.7 billion budget deficit, and anticipates a budget reserve fund that will grow to $2.6 billion by the end of this year.
DHMAS, as the Collaborative Applicant of CT BOS CoC (CT Balance of State Continuum of Care), is seeking an entity to provide training to domestic violence front-line staff who will be providing access to rapid rehousing funds (RRH) to those with whom they work. As a newly funded project by the federal government through the BOS CoC, it is anticipated that newly hired staff, while trained on DV topics, will not be familiar with the housing/homeless services continuum. The selected entity will be able to determine and deliver a portfolio of trainings to these front-line staff.

The Reaching Home Celebration honors the collaborative successes of Connecticut’s housing advocates, leaders, and organizations, and the enormous progress made in preventing and ending homelessness across the state.
The award recipients will be recognized at an awards ceremony at Anthony’s Ocean View in New Haven, CT on Thursday, June 13, 2019.
A broad-based coalition of advocates, providers, state agencies, and young adults is launching eight 100-Day Challenges to house and improve services to youth and young adults experiencing homelessness throughout Connecticut. Funded by a wide array of local philanthropies, this is a true statewide effort, the first of its kind in the nation.

On March 21, 2019, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs issued Federal Register / Vol. 84, No. 55 which announced the Notice of Funding Availability for the Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem Program. This NOFA provides resources for community agencies to support Veterans that are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless.
