The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the Small Cities Program, also known as Connecticut’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), has announced an opportunity to obtain a grant for approximately $1.5 million to support shelter diversion staffing. To be eligible, the town or city must have a population of less than 50,000 persons. In addition, the grant must benefit “low and moderate-income persons, eliminating slum and blight, or addressing an urgent need” (DOH.gov).
