On Tuesday, June 5, 2018, the Reaching Home Youth Homelessness Program Grant Management Team released CT YHDP RFP2 for a fund administrator to assist with managing a shelter diversion and rapid exit fund that will provide one-time financial assistance to youth and young adults to help them to avoid emergency shelter or rapidly exiting crisis housing. This funding is part of approximately $6.5 million awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to the Connecticut Balance of State Continuum of Care (CT BOS CoC) to build a comprehensive response system and projects to meet the needs of youth and young adults who are experiencing homelessness.
The estimated two-year project budget is $580,000, contingent upon approval from the U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The Connecticut Department of Housing aims to provide $145,000 for the 25% match required by HUD, pending funding availability for a total project budget of $725,000.
