DOH and DMHAS Release Guidance for Administering Next Step Tool

On January 23, 2017, Commissioner Evonne M. Klein, CT Department of Housing and Commissioner Miriam Delphin-Rittmon, CT Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services issued guidance for when to administer the Next Step Tool (NST), which is the assessment tool developed to assess youth and young adults vulnerability and to prioritize them for resources.

The NST was vetted and adopted as the primary assessment tool for all youth and young adults under 25 through a collaborative process within the Reaching Campaign. Providers can access training on when to administer the NST by visiting the CT Coalition to End Homelessness website.
