The University of Minnesota Accessibility Observatory, which evaluates transportation systems based on accessibility, recently released its Access Across America: Transit 2016 report.  The Accessibility Observatory annually ranks large metropolitans for connections between workers and jobs.

The 2016 report ranks Hartford as #9 in the top 10 metropolitans with increases in job accessibility by transit. This ranking is attributed in part to the additions of CTTransit services and CTFastrak. The 1-year change in weighted accessibility was calculated at a 6.44% increase, with 628,101 total jobs and 586,840 total workers.

Factors affecting accessibility include the number of jobs and travel time to jobs for a particular metropolitan, as well as the availability of transit, population size, density, and location.
