Home Sales Continue to Increase in April

A new report from the Warren Group shows that in April both single-family sales and sales prices increased in the Nutmeg State. In a year over year comparison, single-family home sales increased by 7.6% to 2,584, from last year’s April total of 2,402. Similarly, the median sales price for single-family homes increased to $250,000, up 6.4% from $235,000 in April 2017. The Warren Group CEO, Timothy Warren, noted this data represents the highest number of home sales of any April since 2007.
The Warren Group reports that a total of 8,478 single-family homes have been sold this year-to-date (YTD), with a median sale price of $243,000.
Comparing April 2018 with 2017, condominiums sales increased by 1.2% to 667 sales, up slightly from last year’s April total of 659. The median sales price for condos experienced a slight decrease of less than a percentage point (0.6%) to $164,000 from $164,900.
The Warren Group reports that a total of 2,431 condominiums have been sold YTD, with a median sale price of $156,500.
