The U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development is administering $140 million in grant funding for almost 900 homeless assistance grants, which includes 436 new projects to provide permanent supportive housing for the chronically homeless and to rapidly re-house families experiencing homelessness. Connecticut organizations will receive $2.7 million for a variety of programs throughout the state.
This $140 million is part of the $1.6 billion in renewal grants announced by Secretary Donovan in April.
These grants will be administered through HUD’s Continuum of Care Program (CoC) for permanent housing and transitional housing renewal projects for housing and support services for those experiencing homelessness.
