ATTOM Data Solutions and Clear Capital jointly released a report discussing the impact of real estate investment on the housing market. The report highlights non-owner occupant (investor) buyers, as well as home flipping trends nationwide.

According to the report, the real estate industry has seen home prices reaching all-time highs nationwide, even though the national homeownership rate is not reflective of this boom. The homeownership rate remains near its 50-year low. The report terms this the “New Normal Real Estate Market.”

The report also analyzes rising home values due to this real estate boom. While rising home values has a positive impact on homeowner equity, it negatively impacts affordability for others, especially first-time homebuyers.

The full white paper provides charts and interactive heat maps demonstrating real estate trends nationally.
