Partnership for Strong Communities in Hartford recently received a $10,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation to support the operations of HOMEConnecticut.
HOMEConnecticut, staffed by the Partnership for Strong Communities, works to increase the state’s stock of affordable housing. HOMEConnecticut promotes the creation and preservation of affordable housing via outreach and engagement with municipalities, policymakers, and other partners and allies through research, analysis, and publication of housing data.
“This grant will support the work of HOMEConnecticut to support the expansion of affordable housing within Fairfield, Hartford, Middlesex, and New Haven counties.” said Kiley Gosselin, Executive Director of the Partnership for Strong Communities. “We appreciate the investment of Wells Fargo Foundation in ensuring that every CT resident has safe, affordable housing.“
Partnership for Strong Communities, founded in 2004, has helped successfully advocate for over $2.3 billion in state funding for housing assistance and homelessness support programs. These housing resources have helped Connecticut reach a historic decline in the state’s homeless population, with a 40 percent reduction in shelter use since 2012.
Wells Fargo Foundation uses their resources and expertise to address complex societal issues and pave a path to stability and financial success for the underserved.
Partnership for Strong Communities is a statewide nonprofit policy and advocacy organization dedicated to ending homelessness, expanding affordable housing, and building strong communities in Connecticut.
