Partnership for Strong Communities in Hartford recently received a $20,000 grant from Fairfield County’s Community Foundation to support the operations of the Reaching Home Campaign.
The Reaching Home Campaign, which is staffed and managed by the Partnership for Strong Communities, is a multi-sector partnership dedicated to ending homelessness in Connecticut. With over 120 organizations involved in the Reaching Home Campaign, operations grants are used to staff the campaign and facilitate its advocacy work.
“This grant will support the work of the Reaching Home Campaign to ensure that all Fairfield County residents, and residents of CT, have access to safe, stable, healthy, affordable housing in communities of opportunity,” said Kiley Gosselin, Executive Director of the Partnership for Strong Communities. “Grants that support our backbone organization are crucial to Collective Impact initiatives, and the complex problems like homelessness and housing instability we work to solve.”
Partnership for Strong Communities, founded in 2004, has helped successfully advocate for over $2.3 billion in state funding for housing assistance and homelessness support programs. These housing resources have helped Connecticut reach a historic decline in the state’s homeless population, with a 40 percent reduction in shelter use since 2012.
