On Monday, June 1, the HOMEConnecticut campaign hosted a call to update stakeholders on the state of housing policy in Connecticut during the COVID-19 pandemic. More than 100 participants joined to hear directly from Connecticut housing leadership on the state and federal response to the public health and economic crisis.
Connecticut Department of Housing Commissioner Seila Mosquera-Bruno, HUD Connecticut Field Office Director Suzanne Piacentini, and Connecticut Housing Finance Authority CEO Nandini Natarajan each gave an update on the COVID-19 response of each of their agencies and took questions from participants. You can find a HUD fact sheet on Connecticut funding through the CARES Act here.
A summary of the question and answer session can be read here.
We also presented information on the economic impacts of COVID-19 in Connecticut, the effects on Connecticut's rental housing and vulnerable households, and emerging policy recommendations. You can view the presentation and research resources here.
