Last week, Regional Plan Association (RPA), launched its Fourth Regional Plan. The Fourth Regional Plan is a comprehensive document analyzing the New York-New Jersey-Connecticut metropolitan region, and identifying policy recommendations to moving the region forward.
RPA calls the region to action with 61 recommendations, including recommendations to fix failing institutions, upgrade and integrate our transportation network, respond to climate change, and increase affordability for everyone in the region. The Plan recommends actions to address affordability such as enforcing fair housing laws, encouraging transit-oriented development and increasing affordable housing supply with infill development.
This plan is the fourth in a series released once-a-generation since the 1920s. The plan was released along with an interactive website equipped with the Plan’s recommendations and case studies.
