The Federal Transit Administration and Smart Growth America have partnered to award nine communities across the country with technical assistance as part of The National Public Transportation/Transit-Oriented Development Technical Assistance Initiative. This initiative is a four year project to help communities build compact, mixed-use development around planned and existing transit, focusing on disadvantaged areas.
The initial round of assistance has been awarded to the following:
- Stamford, CT
- Honolulu, HI
- Moline, IL
- Louisville, KY
- Kansas City, MO
- Oklahoma City, OK
- San Antonio, TX
- Richmond, VA
- Lynnwood, WA
The technical assistance, workshops and multi-day visits will help local leaders leverage transit investments to build stronger communities.
